Weekend Starts Sunny, Then Showers Arrive

Those off and on showers will continue on Sunday for Father’s Day, but it certainly will not be a washout

Saturday is the pick of the weekend across New England, with warm and windy conditions.

Most of us will enjoy lots of sunshine with highs around 80 and low humidity. Even the beaches will be near 80 thanks to the strong southwest wind. Waves offshore will be 2-4 feet, in case you want to take the boat out.

A few extra clouds will be found across Northern New England, along with a few spot showers in the lakes and mountains of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

Clouds increase for all of us Saturday night, with more showers breaking out.

Those off and on showers will continue on Sunday for Father’s Day, but it certainly will not be a washout. Cape Cod and the Islands, for example, will stay mainly dry. The best chance of seeing more repeated rounds of rain will be in Southern Vermont, Southern New Hampshire and the Merrimack Valley.

In most cases outdoor plans will be able to continue, but they may be interrupted for a time by the showers or a storm. Highs will mainly be in the 70s, with a continued gusty breeze and a bit more humidity.

A mix of sun and clouds will settle in on Monday, with highs in the 70s to near 80, before another slug of downpours comes in Monday night into Tuesday.

Much of next week will be unsettled, with more rounds of showers and storms thanks to an uptick in humidity.
