Much warmer this morning, temperatures starting off our Thursday in the 40s north and 50s south.
However, a front is dividing cold air in southern Canada, and warmer air over New England. The front will be slipping south during the day. Wind from the south will shift and come from the north in much of the region during the afternoon. So the warmest part of the day will be the morning.
We also have scattered, mostly light, showers moving from west to east. As the cooler air undermines warmer air later Thursday and this evening fog and drizzle likely develops.
Temperatures cool back to the 30s north on 40s south. Overnight Thursday will feature scattered showers, fog, and drizzle.
Our Friday has thicker clouds with warmer air trying to come back, but it looks like the chill will put up a battle so much of the day is on the cooler side, with showers becoming a steady rain especially northern New England.
Waves of low pressure will bring periods of rain off and on Friday into Saturday. The strongest of which happen at night early Saturday. Rain may be heavy enough for some localized flooding, and wind may gust strong enough to cause scattered damage.

We also have the threat for some powerful thunderstorms, with high in the 60s Saturday. Heavy weather ends later Saturday, followed by a very windy night and much colder air to start Sunday.
The sun should come back Sunday afternoon with the wind diminishing, making for a nice end to the weekend. But with the clocks going back Saturday night, that means the sun is down before 5 p.m.
The early call for election day is the chance of showers and warmer air to start off next week.
