Gusty Winds Ramp Up as Heavy Rain Moves Out

Sunshine will emerge as the winds pick up, and temperatures will steadily drop

As heavy rain moves out of New England, gusty winds will ramp up.

Winds will turn out of the west during the afternoon and gust 40-50 MPH as cooler air flows in behind this morning’s rain.

The strong winds will result in some downed trees and isolated power outages.

Sunshine will emerge as the winds pick up, and temperatures will steadily drop.

Overnight, as we set the clocks back one hour, temperatures will drop into the 30s and 40s.

Sunday will be pleasant with sunshine. Highs reach the 50s. We’ll drop into the 40s for kickoff at Gillette.

A coastal system will clip us on Monday, bringing some afternoon showers to parts of Southeastern New England.

A separate system will move in from the west on Tuesday, bringing some more wet weather late in the day into early Wednesday.

Temperatures will become mild again early to mid-week, before cooling again late week.
