BU Researchers Say Former Pats Player Who Shot 6 People Had ‘Unusually Severe' Form of CTE

Phillip Adams, the former NFL player suspected of fatally shooting six people in South Carolina before killing himself in April, suffered from an “unusually severe” form of the degenerative brain disease chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, the Boston University doctor who conducted the brain autopsy announced Tuesday.
