Episode Four: Secession

To secede or not to secede… that’s the ballot question Free Staters wanted New Hampshire residents to vote on. The proposed bill had members of the New Hampshire legislature and residents upset with the idea that America would be reduced to a union of 49 states, making New Hampshire its own country. As one opponent of the legislation said, “When crazy comes knocking at the door, you slam it shut.” Oh, but don’t worry, it’s not personal, as some Free Staters tout, “It’s not you, It’s me!” Copyright © 2023 NBCUniversal Media, LLC.
