Police Officer Convicted of Murder Sentenced to 15 Years in Prison

Jurors sentenced the former Balch Springs police officer convicted of murder to 15 years in prison and a fine of $10,000 Wednesday night. The prosecution and the defense both rested Wednesday afternoon following the second day of the sentencing phase in the trial of Roy Oliver, who was convicted Tuesday for the 2017 slaying of 15-year-old Jordan Edwards.
