What You Need to Know About a SCAD Heart Attack

The SCAD heart attack was once thought to be rare, but it may not be after all. It’s responsible for 40-percent of heart attacks in mostly healthy young women under the age of 50. Triggers may include post-partum hormonal changes, sudden emotional stress, migraine headaches and an artery problem called fibromuscular dysplasia. Recognizing the symptoms for a heart attack is crucial. Warning signs include chest pain or pressure, shortness of breath, sweating and dizziness. NBC10 Boston’s Kristy Lee has more.
