It will be a cold start to our Monday, with a good amount of sunshine, we start off near 20 degrees in our colder spots. Temperatures warm up to near 40 degrees as clouds fill the sky. Wind increases slightly out of the northeast to 10 to 20 mph this afternoon.
Storm clouds gather this evening with some light rain or snow developing before midnight. Precipitation becomes heavier and turns to mostly snow by daybreak tomorrow.
It's an all-day Tuesday nor'easter — looking like mostly snow — rain may be mixing in around Cape Cod and the Islands.
Wind out of the north is going to increase 20 to 30 mph away from the shore and 30 to 40 mph with gusts past 60 mph near the beach. Blizzard conditions are likely to develop near Boston and adjacent coastal communities north and south.
Snowfall rates an excess of one inch per hour are likely most of the day, that gets us to a foot of snow for many areas. But it keeps snowing most of the night so a widespread 12 to 18 inches are expected throughout most of New England, a little less in southwestern Connecticut, and perhaps over Cape Cod and the Islands.
Travel is very difficult all day Tuesday, and into part of Wednesday.

The low-pressure center is deepening rapidly over the ocean to our southeast, then it slows down in and moves into the state of Maine tomorrow. Low pressure will gradually weaken but keeps snow in the air for a lot of the day.
Freezing weather is likely behind the storm also. So any power outages are going to be even more difficult.
Wednesday looks mostly cloudy with snow showers, steady snow continues well north. High temperature will be mostly in the 30s to near 40 degrees.
We may be a little bit warmer for part of Thursday before another front races through with a chance of rain or snow shower, high temperature in the low 40s.

The weekend is a challenging forecast, there will be a front in northern New England, but warmer air should arrive in southern New England. Temperatures look to be highs in the 30s north and the 40s south, but there may be some rain or snow developing before the weekend is over.
