Woman Found Dead, 1 Other Injured at Cape Cod Resort

A person who the woman had dated was found injured in the same room

Authorities are investigating after a 31-year-old woman was found dead at a Falmouth, Massachusetts resort Monday evening, the district attorney said.

Falmouth Police responded to CapeWind Waterfront Resort around 6:40 p.m. Monday for a well-being check after receiving a call from a friend of the resident, the office of Cape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe said.

Upon arrival, officers found the woman lying unconscious on the floor as well as a man with injuries to his neck and hand lying on the bed.

The woman, from Mashpee, was taken to Falmouth Hospital where she was later pronounced dead. The second person was med-flighted to a hospital in Rhode Island. His condition was not immediately known.

According to the district attorney said the two had been in a "previous dating relationship."

No further information was immediately available.
