A driver crashed through the entrance of a pizza shop in Saugus early Saturday morning.
Police responded to Giovanni's Roast Beef & Pizza shortly before 7:30a.m. and found the car nearly three-quarters into the front of the shop.
The shop was closed at the time and no one was inside.
The driver, a 57-year-old woman from Melrose, was the only person in the car. She was not seriously injured.
According to police, the driver was not impaired. The cause of the crash remains under investigation but police say it was likely due to human error or mechanical failure.
