Davio's Looking to Open New Location in Boston's Seaport District

This week’s Restaurant Roundup includes more closings, a new bagel spot and an upcoming fried chicken destination.

It looks like a local group of upscale Italian steakhouses may be expanding to the Boston waterfront.

According to a licensing board hearing page within the city's website, a new restaurant whose parent company is 51 Liberty Drive, LLC is planning to open in the Seaport District, and Steve DiFillippo of  Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse is listed as the manager. A Google search shows a PressReader.com entry from the Boston Herald that seems to confirm that this would indeed be a new location of Davio's. The hearing is expected to take place on May 15, so more information should be known by later next week.

Davio's traces its roots back to 1985, when DiFillippo purchased a restaurant with that name on Newbury Street in Boston's Back Bay. Today, the group of dining spots is known for its steaks, seafood, pasta dishes, and more, with locations being found in Park Square, Braintree, Chestnut Hill, Foxboro, and Lynnfield, along with Manhattan, Philadelphia, King of Prussia, PA, Atlanta, and Irvine, CA.
