Do not expect much sunshine coming up today. Unlike April, May has been off to a cool start courtesy of those closes and showers.
The warm air has been very close. Washington DC has experienced a very warm start to May with high temperatures approaching 90 degrees on May 2nd. Even Central Park almost hit 80 degrees on Thursday.
Sunday, the weather is looking better for northern New England. Some of the warmest air in the northeast will be along the United States/Canadian border. Places like Burlington and Saint Johnsbury, Vermont, Berlin, New Hampshire and Bangor, Maine could hit 70 degrees Sunday.

Southern New England looks to be cool, cloudy and rainy. Up to an inch of rain is forecast in southern Connecticut, Rhode Island and south eastern Massachusetts.
Monday and Wednesday look beautiful this week across most of New England. Both days will feature sunshine with temperatures in the 60s.
Tuesday will be mild and muggy with high temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s. It’s possible that we could see a few thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon.
Showers and cooler air will return during the day on Thursday. High temperatures will only reach the 50s and shower chances will be fairly consistent through Tuesday of the following week.
