Morning showers will continue to give way to afternoon sun on Wednesday. The exception is in eastern Maine, where it will be raining lightly until early afternoon.
The wind picks up from the west with gusts up to 25 mph, so we end up with a mostly sunny and breezy day. Highs will rise close to 70 degrees in southeastern New England, with temperatures in the 60s elsewhere.
Wednesday night will be clear and cool, with lows in the 30s and 40s. Thursday is shaping up to be quite spectacular, with plentiful sunshine and highs once again in the 60s. Clouds increase throughout the day from northwest to southeast as a cold front drops from Canada, and a spot shower is possible near the international border.
Friday will have more clouds than sun, with a chance for evening showers over southern New England and even a few snowflakes over the mountains.
High pressure will quickly settle over the region Saturday under a partly sunny sky with highs in the 50s. An area of low pressure will quickly come in from the southern plains Sunday with showers and embedded downpours, keeping temperatures in the 50s. Sunday will be raw and cool.
