Muggy Start to Weekend, Cool Finish

Friday night: Foggy spots. Muggy. Lows in the 60s and 70s. Saturday: Cloudy and muggy early, spotty shower. Some late clearing. Highs in the 70s. Sunday: Bright and cooler. Highs in the 60s to near 70.

An uncomfortable night of sleeping is ahead Friday, with muggy conditions holding tough across New England as fog redevelops. Lows will only drop into the 60s and 70s.

Saturday begins humid, as well, with lots of clouds and scattered showers in Southern New England. Meanwhile, a cold front will drop in from north to south.

That will bring cooler, more refreshing air in during the day along with some sunshine. Temperatures will drop from the 70s early into the 60s as the change takes place.

The brightest parts of New England will be Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, where the sun arrives first.

All of us will enjoy sunshine on Sunday, but it stays cool with an onshore wind. Highs along the coast will only reach the 60s, with 70s inland.

Next week turns far more unsettled, with numerous rounds of rain and highs only in the 50s and 60s on Tuesday. We'll rebound back into the 70s by late week as we slowly start to dry.
