At Least 1 Tornado Touchdown From Monday's Storms: National Weather Service

Cleanup is underway across parts of New England after a powerful storm caused major damage and knocked out power to thousands on Monday.

At least one tornado was quickly confirmed by the National Weather Service from Monday’s severe weather.

Three miles northwest of Lincoln, New Hampshire, in Grafton County, a hiker filmed a small tornado from Mount Pemigewasset.

In the video, the circulation was clearly in contact with the ground and extended from a strong, rotating cloud, confirming this as a tornado.

Storm surveys are being conducted on other areas of damage in New England by the government storm damage survey teams to determine if any other tornadoes touched down in Monday’s severe weather.
