We continue to dry off from the half inch to 2 inches of rainfall from this morning. A gusty northwest wind ushers in drier air and slightly milder temperatures by Wednesday. Overnight lows dip into the 50s and 40s thanks to the drier air and some valley fog may develop.

Mostly sunny skies are expected Wednesday as high pressure settles in overhead and the wind relaxes. Highs will be in the 70s with a few late day clouds across southern New England.

Thursday will bring us a dry start, but an onshore wind develops in the afternoon along with heavy rain and storms. A coastal low develops and will enhance or rain with northeast wind.

One to two inches of rain will be expected through Friday morning and a wind direction change occurs from the south and will be gusty Thursday evening through Friday morning.

An upper level low will swing more showers across northwestern New England on Friday, while a drier day is in store for southeastern New England. Highs will be cool in the low 60s with the onshore flow Thursday, and highs rebound to the mid 70s with a bit of sun Friday.

We dry off in time for Saturday with sunshine and highs in the upper 70s, warmer temperatures inland.

Rain chances have increased for Father's Day thanks to the jet stream dipping across the northeast. Scattered showers and storms are possible in the afternoon, again on Monday then again Tuesday afternoon before the jet lifts farther north and we get out of that active pattern. High temperatures will be summer-like next week around 80 degrees through the rest of the 10-day.
