Police are searching for a suspect following an early morning shooting in Boston's Hyde Park neighborhood.
Around 2:10 a.m., an adult male was shot near the corner of Wood Avenue and Frazer Street, police said.
The victim was subsequently transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. It is unclear where or how many times he was shot but he was expected to be OK.
The injured victim was screaming in front of the Frazier Street home where Rick Caban lives with his mother and brother.
"He was yelling, 'don't take me,'" Caban recalled. "I don't know if he was addressing police or if he was addressing God."
The shooting occurred in an area near several schools, including Match Charter School and Boston Preparatory Charter School.
Other residents say shootings in the area are nothing new.

"I can't tell you how many I heard. But that's not -- there's nothing unnatural about that around here," resident Sam McGuire said. "You know it seems to be slow down for a little while but now it's picking back up again."
Caban said he didn't see the shooter but did see the vehicle involved.
"I did see the car backed up into my fence and the police around it," Caban said. "That car is kind of known on the street. I've seen it here. I've seen people kind of get in and out of it on the street.
So far, no arrests have been made.
