Warmer Today; Chance of Showers Later

Today (Sunday): More clouds than sun. Spot shower possible. Clearing late. Highs in the mid 70s. Tonight: Showers and thunder west. Lows in the 60s. Monday: Mix of sun and clouds. Afternoon thunderstorms. Highs in the 80s.

Not as much sunshine today, but it will be a little warmer than Saturday. A few morning clouds and showers should clear by or just after lunch time. A new round of thunderstorms may fire in western New England during the late afternoon and evening.

There is a better chance for thunderstorms Monday. It’s too early to get into specifics, but a couple of those storms could be strong to severe. Before thunderstorms develop it will be a very warm and humid airmass to kick off the week. Temperatures will reach the mid 80s across most of New England. The last time Boston reached 80 degrees was back on October 10, 2018. Our seven month stretch will be coming to a close.

Once the front moves through Monday night, the weather will dry out and clear out for Tuesday and Wednesday. Both days will be less humid as high temperatures climb to a seasonable 70° during the afternoon.

Some rain is possible Thursday into Friday. At this point, the high chances for rain look to be Thursday night into Friday morning.

The holiday weekend and the unofficial start to summer looks a little unsettled, but not as bad as some years. A few showers are possible, but temperatures should be pleasantly mild ranging from the upper 60s to low 70s.
