Beam breaks windows at South Station Tower

Aerial footage showed a shattered window above a busy Boston street

A piece of construction equipment shattered windows above a busy part of Boston Wednesday afternoon.

A beam fell more than 20 stories, crashing through glass at South Station Tower. Fire officials said it landed on the ninth floor.

No injuries were reported, fire officials said.

NBC10 Boston reached out to Boston Inspectional Services and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, but has not heard back.
