Boston Police Commissioner Gross to Retire

Boston Police Commissioner William Gross will retire this week, Mayor Marty Walsh announced Thursday. The city’s first Black police commissioner will be replaced by Police Superintendent Dennis White, who is currently Gross’ chief of staff.
