Billy Ray Cyrus Reveals He Was Homeless When He Recorded ‘Achy Breaky Heart'

Harry: “Twenty-five years since ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ that’s almost impossible to believe and of course ‘Some Gave All’ was that record the longest record at  numer one on the country charts, 17 weeks or something?”  Billy: “Actually Billboard Top 200, 17 weeks in a row at number one.”  Harry: “Can you compare your life before that and after that in terms of how things have changed?”  Billy: “I was homeles and lived in my car when I recorded that record. I slept in a Chevy Beretta, it was tight quarters. My car was my office, it was everything. I still kind of live like that to this day I keep everything on me, everything I need in case of an emergency.” Harry: “Is that because of the way you lived prior to the success?” Billy: “That’s right, especially when you’re living in your car you want all your stuff in a pile and so if you’ve got to move you know where the exit is and carry your stuff.” For full interviews, check out “Harry.”
