John Cena on Proposing at WrestleMania

Harry: “You proposed during WrestleMania? How fun was that?” John: “Nothing says ‘I love you’ like a wrestling proposal. It really was great because I had wanted to do it for a long time and I was trying to think of the perfect moment. I got to thinking to myself I’ve been on TV with WWE for 15 years now, they’ve kind of watched me grow up, mature and become a man. I consider them my family and I thought it was the greatest moment in my life and I wanted to share it with my family. I was super nervous because in sharing anything with your family you never know how they are going to react and there are 75,000 folks.” Harry: “You knew she was going to say yes.” John: “I was hoping she would say yes but I guess I wasn’t nervous about that. I guess I was nervous about 75,000 people maybe breaking out in a chant ‘No, no, no.’ A lot of times the crowd dictates the action and as performers we get caught up in the moment. So if they kind of took over the moment and then Nicole said no out there but yes backstage I don’t know. I owe our fans a debt of gratitude. If you go back and watch WrestleMania we had a match before I proposed and they didn’t really like me, then when they could see the match was over and I genuinely wanted to share a moment with the woman I love they were extremely acceptive.” For full interviews, check out ‘Harry.’
