Michael Coyne is the legal analyst for NBC10 Boston.
He has been a trial lawyer in state and federal courts for over three decades. For over 30 years he has served as legal analyst for New England Cable News and has been NBC10 Boston’s legal analyst since the station came on the air. He has helped cover the nation’s major legal trials during his time here, including trials regarding the beating of Rodney King, Casey Anthony, Whitey Bulger, the Boston Marathon bombing, Aaron Hernandez and the prosecution of Karen Read for the murder of John O’Keefe.
In addition to his trial practice, Coyne is the dean and a professor at the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover. He teaches civil and criminal procedure, evidence, and trial advocacy. He heads MSLAW’s award winning Trial Advocacy Program.
He is the author or coauthor of numerous books, articles, and periodicals, including Trial Prep for the New Advocate. He has lectured on evidence for a national bar review company, is frequently called upon as a speaker, guest lecturer, or presenter concerning legal issues in state and federal courts.
A Bostonian born and raised; he loves the city, its sports teams, and the North End. In his spare time, he enjoys the beach, boating and fishing with his family, who thankfully all live close by.
