As just under a third of Massachusetts residents voted for President-elect Trump, the anti-Trump tenor of many events this week is perhaps no surprise. If this inauguration makes you want to drink, dance, or demonstrate, these events have you covered.
Counter-Inaugural Jams
Jan. 19 – Spoken word artist Ashley Rose Salomon emcees this pre-inaugural call-to-action, expected to draw 1,000 people to the Strand Theater in Dorchester for art and performance on the subject of social justice.
Democratic Drinking
Jan. 19 – Perhaps not implied by its sardonic title (End of the World Bunker Party,) this event is a good chance to make a night out a bit more philanthropic. One drink gives you one vote for your choice of three nonprofits, and proceeds from the event will be distributed accordingly.

Free Personal Training
Jan. 20 – Handstand, the app that bills itself the “Uber of fitness,” is running a promotion handing out $250,000 worth of free one-on-one fitness training sessions. Claim one for yourself by registering with the app by Friday.
Golden…Sunshine Draft Party
Jan. 20 – Bukowski Tavern will mark the inauguration by tapping a keg of 21st Amendment Brewery's beer, Golden Sunshine. Let’s just say it references activities alleged in a certain unsubstantiated report on hotel indiscretions by soon-to-be President Trump.
What a Joke
Jan. 20 – Brooklyn-based comedians Emily Winter and Jenn Welch organized a nationwide comedy festival across 33 cities the day of Trump’s inauguration. It benefits the ACLU, an organization they believe will fight to hold Trump accountable. See the show in Boston.
Inaugural Wrecking Ball
Jan. 21 – 2016 may have been a “trash fire,” but the organizers of this event – and the rest of humanity, really – need you to show up with extinguishers in hand. Raise your glass and raise money for Planned Parenthood with donations-suggested live music at Aeronaut.
Kaleidoscope Kitchen

Jan. 22 – Fast-rising Boston comic and self-described Twitter-Rant champion Tooky Kavanagh takes the stage at this month’s Bodega’s Kaleidoscope Kitchen, featuring a diverse lineup of comics, artists and performers sure to have a thing or two to say the pageant, er, inauguration this Friday.

Tapas Trophy
Jan. 23 – It’s kind of like Chopped Tapas Edition, save for the unfortunate dearth of host Ted Allen. Tremont 647 chef Andy Husbands is celebrating the restaurant's 20th anniversary with a cook-off competition against two former chefs de cuisine. See the show Monday.
Lego Time
Jan. 25 – That someone had the chutzpah to construct a lego Death Star for your viewing pleasure should be enough to visit this month’s “no kids allowed” adult night at the Legoland Discovery Center in Somerville. There’ll be beer from Somerville Brewing Company, too.
Wine and Dine with Dumplings
Jan. 26 – Thursday takeout and Franzia night, but for grownups. This Boston Wine School pairing session answers the call for soft, pillowy dumplings and a heck of a lot of wine.
