Overnight rain from Connecticut to Cape Cod races away with a wave of low-pressure passing by off to our south.
Now a warm front stalls with many clouds, but anywhere we see some sunny breaks the temperature climbs close to 60 degrees this afternoon.
Most of the day is dry, though a few rain or snow showers are possible in northern Maine, where colder air in the 30s hangs tough.
A cold front from the north, combined with the low-pressure and a warm front to the south, will produce a period of rain, perhaps briefly heavy tonight with temperatures holding in the 40s.
A cold front pushes off the coast midday tomorrow with temperatures cooling dramatically from the 50s to the 40s and 30s in southern New England, and through the 30s into the 20s in northern New England where a couple inches of snow are possible in the mountains.
Windy and cold weather is here tomorrow night with temperatures falling into the teens by early Saturday.
High pressure with sunshine and light wind early Saturday, but that high pressure races out to see followed by clouds in the afternoon. High temperature in the 20s to lower 30s, will make for good ski and outdoor activity weather.

Then we have another one-two combination, with a cold front from the north, and a warm front from the south, plus a low-pressure system traveling to sea south of Long Island Saturday night.
This set up generates a period of snow, perhaps briefly heavy, maybe mixed with rain from Boston southward.
Though it is still early to get specific, snow may accumulate several inches, especially in the higher elevations, away from the coast.
That wintry system is moving fast as we should wake up to clearing skies early Sunday with temperatures rising into the 30s and lower 40s for a nice second half of the weekend.
Next week is going to be very interesting with serious cold air in southeastern Canada, and record warmth south of New England.
We likely are on the warmer and wet side of these fronts with off and on rain, perhaps a wintry mix in the far north for much of next week.
