3 Floors Evacuated Due to Hazmat Situation at Brigham and Women's Hospital

Three floors were evacuated Monday after a chemical spill at a Boston hospital.

Fire crews responded to a Level 2 hazmat situation on the 10th floor of 20 Shattuck St., a building on the campus of Brigham and Women's Hospital. The ninth, 10th and 11th floors were evacuated as a precautionary, according to the Boston Fire Department.

The hospital said the spill had been contained and was being cleared, adding that patient care was not impacted.

Authorities did not say what type of chemical was spilled, but police said it was a small bottle.

No injuries have been reported.
