Man Charged With Attempted Murder in Roxbury Shooting

A man was arrested Friday and charged in a shooting that happened Tuesday in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood.

Police said a man was shot in the area of Columbus Avenue and Ritchie Street shotly before 9 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Friday, police said they arrested 25-year-old Abdirahman Abdi of Brockton, Massachusetts.

Abdi is charged with attempted murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed assault to rob, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and unlawful firearm possession.

It was not immediately clear if Abdi had an attorney.
