Roads Reopen, Residents Return After Gas Leak in Upton, Mass.

Residents have returned to their homes following a gas line break in Upton, Massachusetts, Wednesday afternoon.

Upton police say the 2" break was on Hartford Avenue South near the railroad crossing. Area roads have since reopened.

Fire crews and Eversource are on the scene and the gas has been stopped. Four homes in the immediate area were evacuated.

Aerial footage from the NBC Sky Ranger showed firefighters spraying water on the pipe.

There were no reported injuries.

It's not clear if there is a timeline for repairs.
