Here's What's Happening at First Night Boston 2017

There's fireworks, the People's Parade, concerts and much more — but how to fit in all the events at First Night Boston?

Get out your planner, because the event schedule has been released — and remember, all events are free and open to the public.

The fireworks over the Common take place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, and comes an hour after the parade to the Common. Pipes and Pops performances at Old South Church come before and after the fireworks, at 6:30 and 8 p.m. Before midnight, there will be a "Copley Countdown" with live music followed by a spectacular pyrotechnics show to ring in the New Year.

The excitement begins, forsooth, with the "Shakespeare Unauthorized" exhibition at the Boston Public Library at 10 a.m. And there's dance, magic shows, concerts and more throughout the event.

A special performance headlines New Year's Day's festivities Sunday, but the name of the artist hasn't been announced yet.
