A Massachusetts mixed martial arts fighter died Tuesday, three days after a match in Plymouth.

Rondel Clark, 26, of Sutton, was pronounced dead Tuesday morning. He fought Ryan Dunn Saturday as part of the Cage Titans XXXV event Saturday at Plymouth Memorial Hall.

Clark's match ended in a technical knockout about two minutes into the third round. After the fight, he was examined and taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, where he later passed away.

Keith Hayes was the ring announcer the night of the match and said Clark had a warriors heart.

"The kid had a lot of heart in training and fighting. He gave all with what he did. You could see that with his work ethic, you can see the first round of fight he came out — he wanted to win," said Hayes.

The evening before the match, Clark had posted to Facebook, thanking his supporters and looking forward to his big fight.

Those who knew Clark at the Westborough gym where he trained said he was a great guy with an amazing family.

Clark's brother-in-law, Francis O'Sullivan, also had high praise for him.

"He was very loved, he was an amazing person. He wasn't just a friend, he was family to everybody. He had a heart like no other, a smile that would light up the room, it's a sad day for the world," O'Sullivan said in a statement.

The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office is investigating, and the cause of Clark's death will be determined by the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
