Man Charged With Videotaping Co-Worker in Bathroom

Michael A. Amancio is a veteran parks department foreman in Attleboro, Mass.

A Massachusetts man is charged with secretly videotaping a co-worker using the bathroom at Capron Park Zoo.

Michael A. Amancio, 44, of 150 James St. in Attleboro, who was arrested May 7, allegedly hid his smartphone in a paper towel dispenser. The phone was discovered by another park worker on April 24.

Amancio has been a parks department employee for 18 years.

Amancio has pleaded not guilty to videotaping an unsuspecting person in the nude and for being a disorderly person. He was released on $500 cash bail and ordered to stay away from Capron Park and its employees.

A lawyer for Amancio said the male employee he is charged with videotaping is someone Amancio has had problems with and who has threatened in the past to shoot him.

Amancio has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and more victims may be involved. The bathroom is not open to the public.

Amancio is due back in court on June 5.
