    Merrimack College Student Arrested After Alleged Dorm Room Assault

    A 22-year-old Merrimack College student is facing charges after he allegedly assaulted a fellow student in a dorm room.

    August von Ungern-Sternberg was arraigned Tuesday in Lawrence District Court on charges of assault and battery on a family/household member, witness intimidation and resisting arrest. Von Ungern-Sternberg allegedly assaulted a female student in a dorm room, the Essex District Attorney's office said.

    Bail was set at $2,500 and he was ordered to stay away from and have no contact with the victim and witnesses. The judge also ordered him to stay away from the college and to check in with a probation officer once a week.

    Von Ungern-Sternberg is undergoing a health and substance evaluation.
