Peace Vigil for 3 Young Victims of Violence

Over 100 people participated in a peace vigil in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood Tuesday night.

Clergy and community members held a peace vigil in Boston's Dorchester neighborhood Tuesday night to honor the lives of three young children who died in the past month.

One stop was to the location where Jadialys Deleon Camacho, 8, of Dorchester was tragically killed on June 6 when she was struck by a car in a hit-and-run. Her mom, Yalitza Camacho, is still in immense pain.

"It's too hard, I can't explain this, too hard, too hard," Camacho said.

Most recently, last Wednesday, 16-year-old Jonathan "Jo Jo" Dos Santos was shot to death allegedly at the hands of two boys, ages 14 and 16.

And in May, 18-year-old Fritz Philogene was killed in Dorchester when a car struck his bike.

Event organizers say they want to reclaim the streets.

"It needs to stop. It's too much. Being a parent, I cant even imagine burying my children," said Sharon Armstrong.
