Salvation Army in Chelsea, Mass. Closed Due to Reports of Illness

Authorities in Chelsea, Massachusetts, received reports from the local Salvation Army that workers and customers were getting sick inside the building on Monday.

Authorities in Chelsea, Massachusetts, received reports from the local Salvation Army that workers and customers were getting sick inside the building on Monday.

The call came in around 1 p.m. for the incident at 456 Broadway. The fire department responded, but couldn't find anything wrong. At 3 p.m., they received calls with similar complaints and again could not find reason for the illnesses.

Salvation Army reopened at 8 a.m. Tuesday with the same problem. The store has been closed until the specific cause is found.

The Department of Health will investigate.
