Sharon Teacher Charged With Indecent Assault

A Massachusetts high school teacher is facing criminal charges after allegations of indecent assault and battery.

Sharon Public Schools Superintendent Victoria Greer announced Monday that charges had been filed against a teacher, who had been suspended since allegations of misconduct came to light in December.

Greer said that criminal charges were being filed, and that the teacher's employment at Sharon High School had been terminated.

Later Monday, Sharon Police identified the suspect as 56-year-old Bradley Lengas of Cumberland, Rhode Island. He is charged with indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14.

The superintendent said her district was cooperating with Sharon Police and the Norfolk County District Attorney's Office.

"As a school district, please be assured that our first priority is the protection and safety of our students so that they may learn in healthy, supportive, safe and responsive school environments," Greer said in a statement.
