Developer Purchases Davis Square Properties That Include the Burren, McKinnon’s, When Pigs Fly

A British developer has acquired a section of Somerville's Davis Square, and the properties include some well-known places for food and drink.

Banker & Tradesman is reporting that London-based Scape has signed long-term ground leases for three properties on Elm Street that are home to the Burren Pub, McKinnon's Meat Market, and When Pigs Fly, along with a parking lot in the back. The developer is focusing on dorm-style/co-living projects in the local region, and at this point in time, it is not known what might happen to the storefronts that are part of the purchase. (Stay tuned for updates.)

The purchase price for the three properties and parking lot was just under 10 million.

Thanks to Geoff Wong for initially bringing this to our attention.
