A 50-year-old man drowned at a pond in Framingham Wednesday afternoon after he went swimming in an off-limits area, police said.
Learned Pond, where the drowning took place, is south of Route 9 near the Natick Mall.
The man has not been identified yet. He was brought to Metro West Medical Center, where he died, police said.
He was in a seculuded swimming spot that is off limits to swimmers and there were no lifeguards working at the time, according to police.
A friend he was swimming with called 911, and firefighters tried to revive him on scene before he was brought to the hospital, officials said.
On Monday in a lake in Medford, a recent high school graduate drowned while swimming with friends. A preliminary investigation found that Apurba Devkota was unable to swim and was immediately in distress when he entered the water.
