Four people were arrested and an officer was allegedly assaulted early Sunday morning in connection with a fight outside a Manchester, New Hampshire bar.
Police said an officer was outside of Glow Bar on Hanover Street at 1:35 a.m. when he spotted a woman assault another woman who had been sitting inside a parked vehicle.
When the officer tried to intervene, the suspect began to slap the officer's hands away while also "making several disparaging remarks" towards him. The woman, identified as 21-year-old Demi Shuman of Manchester, was arrested but not before allegedly punching the officer in the mouth with a closed fist.
Police said several others outside the bar refused to leave the area and interfered with the officer's attempt to arrest Shuman.
Also arrested were Roselyn De Jesus, 25 of Manchester; Eddy Assani, 19, of Manchester; and Luck Ndahigwa, 21, of Concord. Shuman was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest while the others were charged with refusing to leave the scene.
All were released on their own recognizance and are scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on Oct. 10.
