Jim Major, president of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors, says the balance of the area’s housing market has shifted to favor buyers versus sellers.
“There appears to be no shortage of pent-up demand among first-time buyers,” said Major, an agent with Century 21 North East in Woburn, in a statement Wednesday. “In many communities, the number of homes for sale has been on the rise since August and that’s led to slower price appreciation ... which is good news for buyers."
The Business Journal explored the number of homes listed for around $500,000 in Greater Boston to get a glimpse of what’s available in the region’s housing market.
