A man was critically injured Friday night in a shooting outside a McDonald's in Methuen, Massachusetts.
Police said a 20-year-old man was shot in the parking lot around 9:30 p.m. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Rodney Villar of Dracut, was arrested at his home a short time later.
The victim was taken to a Boston hospital in critical condition.
Police said the shooting was not a random act.
Two children were in the area when the shooting took place. Neither was injured.
The shooting is under investigation.
