A suspected serial rapist from Springfield, Massachusetts, has been captured in Georgia.

A suspected serial rapist from Springfield, Massachusetts, has been captured in Georgia.

The U.S. Marshals Service says 34-year-old Peter Wray was caught Thursday near Atlanta based on tips from the public.

Authorities say Wray, already listed on the Massachusetts sex offender registry, allegedly tied up three young women at a party last month, put hoods over their heads and stabbed and raped them. Police say he had also failed to register as a sex offender.

He allegedly stole a car and drove south with his girlfriend and young child.

He is being held in Georgia on a fugitive charge pending extradition to Massachusetts where he faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, rape and kidnapping. It's not clear if he has a lawyer.
