A second Lowell High School teacher reportedly is under investigation for inappropriate conduct involving a student.
The charge comes less than a week after Science teacher Scott Hughes was also investigated for misconduct earlier this year, according to the Lowell Sun.
Bryan Sheckman, a social studies teacher at the high school, resigned Tuesday after it was allegedly discovered that he sent love letters to a former Lowell student.

It is not clear what prompted the investigation against Sheckman or whether it involved the same student, reports the Sun.
Hughes was placed on paid administrative leave earlier this week, people briefed on the situation told the Sun, but no wrongdoing has been found.
"The individual has been put on administrative leave, which is our policy pending an investigation," School Committee member Jackie Doherty told the Sun.
Sheckman's resignation on Tuesday prompted students at the high school to begin raising questions about the allegations against Hughes, reports the Sun.
