Authorities in New Hampshire have arrested two men in connection with an apparent threat made to a high school on Facebook, which they say was posted by the relative of an unwitting account holder in an act of revenge.
Police learned Sunday about the post, which they said could be "easily interpreted" as a threat to Concord High School and involved a "possible shooting."
According to an investigation by Concord police, a relative of the Facebook account holder accessed the account and posted the message. The account holder was detained for a time while mental health professionals conducted an evaluation.
"Revenge between the suspect and the unwitting account holder appears to be the motive for this incident," Concord police said in a statement.
On Friday, authorities said 21-year-old Kyle Slogle, of Concord, and 18-year-old Brandon Foster, of Pittsfield had been arrested in connection with the case. They were charged with conspiracy to commit criminal threatening, misuse of a computer or network and false public alarm.
Police believe that no credible threat to the school exists.
The two men were held without bail and will be arraigned Friday afternoon at Merrimack County Superior Court.
