"I can't put into words," said Paul Wahlberg. "It's Fenway."

"To have a business and be part of this community - it's an incredible honor," agreed Donnie Wahlberg.

And they just came off another honor, with Mark Wahlberg introducing the pope during his visit to Philadelphia.

"It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," he said.

So what did the pope think about his "Ted" joke?

"He doesn't watch much television," said Mark Wahlberg.

Thankfully, the family's fans do, and many lined the street to sneak a peak of their favorite Wahlberg.

Eric Younger of Boston's Allston neighborhood even brought his own. A cardboard cutout of Mark Wahlberg has been on his apartment wall for the last few years.

The matriarch of the clan, Alma wahlberg signed it.

"It's no Mark, but we'll take it," said Younger. "If anything, she's the most important Wahlberg."

Alma Wahlbergt was glowing on the red carpet Thursday night. Earlier, she was even on Rob Gronkowski's party bus with Gronk's family filming for the Wahlburgers reality show. Gronk's brothers and father were at the grand opening, but Gronk was not.

Wahlburgers serves everything from burgers to fries to potato tots.

The other Wahlburgers locations are in Hingham, Lynnfield, Coney Island and Toronto.

The Brookline Ave. location will be open to the public starting Friday.
