Victor Ramon Alvarado Vega, 27, of Manchester, New Hampshire

A New Hampshire man who allegedly robbed another man with a knife apparently decided to try to hide in the safest place he could think of after being chased by the victim and his friends: a police station.

Twenty-seven-year-old Victor Ramon Alvarado Vega of Manchester faces multiple charges, including robbery, two counts of falsifying physical evidence, attempted escape and resisting arrest.

Manchester police say officers noticed something happening in the police station's parking lot Tuesday afternoon, and when they went out to investigate, learned from a 19-year-old man who was bleeding from his temple that he was robbed at knifepoint at the Adam Curtis Skate Park on Maple Street.

The victim told officers that the robber hit him in the head with a knife's handle and then ran away after grabbing the victim's $60 phone charger, ultimately running into the Manchester Police Department station, according to officials.

The alleged robber, later identified as Alvarado Vega, was found after he left the public restroom in the police station's lobby. The stolen phone charge and knife allegedly were found inside the restroom.

Alvarado Vega was arrested without incident after the victim identified him as the suspect, according to police; however, he allegedly started to fight the officers and tried to run away after they removed his handcuffs in the secured booking area.

Police say Alvarado Vega fought with officers and bit a sergeant who tried to stop him, and that he was eventually stopped with a stun gun.

Alvarado Vega was due in court on Wednesday. It's unclear if he has an attorney.
