It was an emotional night on “Dancing With the Stars" as the contestants put their most vulnerable selves on the dance floor for this week's theme: “Most Memorable Year.”

But before each star shared their memories during the Oct. 24 episode, Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson choreographed a special dance dedicated to the late judge Len Goodman. Many former pros returned to the ballroom to take part in the performance which was a gorgeous dance set to Henry Mancini’s “Moon River.”

Co-host Julianne Hough participated, as well as brother and judge Derek Hough. Karina Smirnoff, Mark Ballas, Kym Herjavec, Anna Trebunskaya, Edyta Sliwinska, Tony Dovolani, Louis van Amstel and Maks Chmerkovskiy were among the returning dancers.

It ended with a voiceover of Goodman saying, “All good things must come to an end, leaving judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli in tears, as well as many of the dancers.

Goodman died in April at the age of 78. He was the head judge on "DWTS" since the show started, before retiring last season. This year's trophy is being named in his honor, the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

The competition then began, with more tears and reflections as the stars shared their important or most impactful year in their lives. Here are the highlights below.

Who was the fifth celebrity dancer to get eliminated?

Mira Sorvino and Gleb Savchenko were the couple to be eliminated during the fifth week of the competition. The duo danced a contemporary routine to “Time After Time,” paying tribute to the actor's iconic “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion” role. Her 18-year-old daughter, Mattea Angel Backus, was also included.

While they did not have the lowest scores of the might, between the judge’s scores and audience votes, they were in the bottom three.

“It’s been incredible, it’s been lots of things come true, and I’m very grateful,” Sorvino told host Julianne Hough after being eliminated.

Who is at the top of the leaderboard?

Two couples led the way this episode. Former Bachelorette Charity Lawson received the first 10 of the season after she and Artem Chigvintsev performed a contemporary routine set to “Lose You to Love Me” by Selena Gomez. Their total score was 28 out of 30.

However, a second pair also got a 10. Last week’s top duo, Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy, also earned a 28 out of 30 after dancing a Viennese waltz to “Until I Found You” by Stephen Sanchez.

Which celebrities are at the bottom of the leaderboard?

Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber and Harry Jowsey and Rylee Arnold were the other two couples who were in the bottom three with Sorvino and Savchenko.

Hannigan and Farber received a 21 out of 30 for their Viennese Waltz, set to “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. Jowsey and Arnold got an 18 out of 30 for their Contemporary dance to Andy Grammer's “Keep Your Head Up.”
