Ten more cases of vaping-related lung injuries have been reported, bringing the new total reported to the Centers for Disease Control to 29, according to the Department of Public Health.
The DPH made the announcement on Wednesday and said it gave the alarming report to the CDC. The report included evidence from patient interviews and medical record reviews.
Ten cases of vaping-associated injuries have so far been confirmed and 19 are probable.
Health officials said of those 29 cases, 15 of those patients were female and 14 were male. Twenty-five of those patients were hospitalized.
Nine cases were under the age of 20 and seven were between 20 and 29. Seven patients were between 30 and 49 and six were over the age of 60, officials said.
As of Wednesday, the DPH has received 152 reports of suspected vaping-related lung injuries, health officials said. Sixty-three cases are under investigation and 60 have since been ruled out.
