2 Cohasset Schools Closed After Threat on Social Media

Classes at Cohasset Middle and High School have been cancelled after a social media threat was aimed at students.

The Cohasset police said detectives are "unable to dismiss this threat."

"In an abundance of caution and given the late discovery of the threat, the CPD have recommended that school for CMHS be cancelled for Tuesday, June 18, 2019," the department stated in a Facebook post.

The threat was not directed at the elementary schools, and so classes will go on as scheduled at both Osgood and Deer Hill elementary schools.

"Please know that the (student resource officer) and detectives are working hard to get to the truth," the post said.

Any further information will be shared with families promptly.
