A man was injured Monday evening in a crash that left two vehicles overturned inside a former Boston Market restaurant in Saugus, Massachusetts.
The Saugus Police Department said officers responded to the crash shortly before 7:30 p.m. at the store on Route 1, which closed recently. An SUV and a sedan were involved in the crash.

Police say a 62-year-old man was found inside the SUV. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said Tuesday that the driver, whose name was not released, is facing charges for negligent operation, driving with a suspended license, driving an unregistered motor vehicle and possession of a Class A substance.
The sedan was unoccupied when officers arrived, police said.
The Saugus Firefighters Local 1003 said earlier that multiple people were entrapped.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, but police believe the driver of the SUV may have lost control and hit the other car when it was parked in front of the building.
