Young Girl Struck by Car After Running From Home

Initial investigation showed that there was an argument at the home, which prompted the girl to run out, dressed in dark clothing

A young girl in Yarmouth, Massachusetts, was seriously injured when she ran from her home during an argument and was struck by a vehicle.

Police responded to a home on Angus Avenue Thursday night at 10:23.

The caller reported that her daughter had run out of the home and was struck by a vehicle on Route 28.

Police arrived and found the girl in the westbound lane of the roadway suffering from serious injuries.

She was treated at Cape Cod Hospital and transported by ambulance to Boston Children’s Hospital.

Initial investigation showed that there was an argument at the home, which prompted the girl to run out, dressed in dark clothing.

The operator of the vehicle did not initially see her and was unable to stop in time. The driver did remain on the scene and no charges are expected to be filed.

The girl is expected to make a full recovery.
